Accessibility and inclusive design projects

My interest in accessibility predates my passion for design. Through various volunteer experiences, I've learned the importance of inclusivity for people of all ages, abilities, backgrounds, genders, and upbringings. These experiences have inspired my approach to inclusive design, pushing me to develop solutions that accommodate a wide user base. Consequently, I've become an advocate for web accessibility and inclusive design. As a designer, my goal extends beyond creating visually appealing designs — I aim to ensure they are accessible and functional for everyone.

In this essay, I analyse the legal and social science evidence to determine whether it is Airbnb's responsibility to ensure that all travellers are included in their booking system. By examining both the legal framework and the social impact of Airbnb's policies, I aim to provide a comprehensive evaluation of the company's obligations and potential areas for improvement. Through this analysis, I hope to shed light on the importance of inclusive design and the role that companies like Airbnb play in promoting accessibility for all users.

For this project, I set out to design an accessibility course for designers who are new to the field and need to learn the fundamentals of creating accessible designs. My goal was to create an imaginary project that not only covers the basics but also provides practical tools and strategies that designers can use to create more inclusive and accessible designs. Through this project, I aimed to demonstrate my understanding of the importance of accessibility in design and my ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
